Choice of Poison

Chances are you have a few vices.

Cardinal Sins:
Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride

Modern Apps:
Tinder, Doordash, Robinhood, Doomscrolling, Ragebait, Instagram, LinkedIn

Today: most of these are the most addictive businesses in the world.

However, my view is that these are all useful vices.

For all the terrible dating stories, there are people that fall in love. For every soggy meal, there is someone sick that was able to call delivery to their comfort meal.

The ideal is not to be offline or off the grid. That feels more like a symptom of a recovering addict.

The ideal is to not be controlled by any one algorithm, but to tame it to your own goals. The algorithm will run wild for your innate wild desires, but tell it your interests and the algorithm will serve you.

You can be tremendously successful and healthy, even with a little vice.
